Keyframed Animation
The following are captures from the animation process to show sample expressions and character development for our character Itsumi.
Character Poses
All greyscale concept work is drawn by our co-art director Nafisah Tung. These pose tests were used early in production to refine the character attitudes as well as provide a baseline to understand desired rigging requirements and limitations.
Character Expressions & Phonemes
Dialogue for the characters was processed through a phoneme-based plugin in Unity and connected to the shapes displayed below. Additionally, expressions were controlled through blendshapes and choreographed scene by scene for 5 episodes of footage.
